Collectively known as Yanesen, taking the first syllable of each of Yanaka, Nezu and Sendagi, it is home to bangobooks, a quaint little shop in that deserve an expedition to the area. The secondhand bookstore carries titles from Meiji and Taisho period, literary magazines, culinary, photography, art and design books. These books are mostly Japanese but I did find some French and English ones as well. I should also mention that Tabi Bagel 旅ベーグル is just a few shops down, offering fresh bagels at 7am and 12.30am on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. There is usually a beeline so it is advised to come early. Do check out the bristle brush shop next to it as well. These nifty brushes come in different forms and colours. You can even find a brush that looks like a cat’s striped tail.
